This is a goose,
These are gooseberries,
This is gooseberry pie (of which none should be wary)
This is roast goose,
And this, a smoked ham.
And this, a nice jar full of gooseberry jam!
"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!"
"Who the hell are you?" inquired Delacroix of the disembodied voice which had interrupted her in the midst of reading her very first foray into the field of doggerel verse.
"I AM THE VOICE OF REASON", said the VOR, "AND THOSE ARE NOT GOOSEBERRIES IN ANY FORM. NOBODY KNOWS WHAT THAT CRAP IS, NOR WHY SOME E-BAY NUTCASE IS HELL BENT ON SELLING IT."
"Stop shouting!", shouted Lacey, "one thing we do not need around here is a Voice of Reason. I'll have Millie hex you back to the stone age when I've finished my presentation."
"Now then:"
And this, a nice jar full of gooseberry jam!
And this is our Farm Girl always sweet, never dour,
Who Uncle Mac gooses, at least once an hour.
This marks the end of our ill-rhyming din,
And yes, you're correct, we mailed this one in.
